Bart Becks is a serial entrepreneur and innovation leader committed to strengthening Europe’s technology ecosystem. He is the founder of Genisys, a European AI venture studio and advisory platform focused on applied AI, and serves on the board of the European Innovation Council (EIC) — Europe’s €10.1 billion flagship programm for breakthrough innovation.
Previously, Bart was CEO of Belgacom Skynet (now Proximus), where he helped build Belgium’s largest internet and digital media company. He later joined SBS Broadcasting, which merged with ProSiebenSat.1 to become one of Europe’s leading media groups. More recently, he served as Executive Chairman of EURACTIV, growing it into a pan-European policy media network active in 13 countries.
Bart is also co-founder of BeCentral, Brussels’ largest tech campus. He advises and invests in startups across AI, SaaS, digital media, and healthcare, with a strong focus on responsible AI adoption and Europe’s long-term competitiveness.
